Machine 22 - dc jam records

Machine 22 interview By Lisa Booth

Do you have anything to say to the readers & fans?
- We’re excited to share our music with all of you and play shows near your homes. Thanks for listening!
Please introduce yourself to our readers that dont know you, Who are you all & where are you all from.
- We’re Machine 22, a rock band from Minneapolis.
Jack Swagger (Vocals, Guitar, Keys, Percussion) from Apple Valley, MN,
Ben Pelowski (Guitar, Backup Vocals) from Rochester, MN,
Nick Pelowski (Bass, Backup Vocals) from Rochester, MN,
Devin Farlow (Drums, Percussion, Backup Vocals) from Rochester, MN,
and Karl Schmidt (Live guitar/backup vocals) from Belle Plaine, MN.

Tell us some history,
- Jack Swagger played in the band The Soviet Machines for over 2 years.
Ben and Nick saw Jack’s band open for Quietdrive on a few occasions and drew a liking towards the music.
Eventually, Ben, Nick and Devin’s band, Spies, started playing shows with The Soviet Machines.
Jack, Ben, Nick, and Devin got to become really good friends and Jack soon moved in with Ben and Nick
and Machine 22 was born. We quickly learned a set of tunes and then headed out on our first tour not
one month after forming the band. Karl joined the mix recently to give the band more depth for live performances.

How did you get to know each other, and how & when did you form The Band.. any funny memorys?,
- We all first met each other at shows in 2008. Eventually our two bands (The Soviet Machines and Spies)
started playing gigs together in the winter of 2008 and through the spring of 2009.
Jack, Ben, Nick, and Devin hung out a lot during and after these shows and in time, formed Machine 22.
Jack ended up moving in with Ben and Nick and the four-piece went on a Midwest tour in July of 2009.
After four months of playing shows, writing, and recording the band began taking shape.
Karl was the added to the line-up and the five-piece Machine 22 was complete.

Are you in any other Side Bands?
- None of us are “in” any other side bands, but Jack recently toured with Quietdrive
as a guitarist/back-up vocalist, and we all frequently jam with other musicians in the Twin Cities area.
What age did you all start to realise you wanted to play music and pick up an instrument - do you play any other instruments?
- Jack started playing drums when he was four, he started playing guitar and writing songs when he was twelve.
Ben got his first guitar in high school and taught himself how to play while listening to music, shortly after Nick
bought his first bass so he could jam cover songs with Ben. Devin’s dad has played drums since he was young and got
Devin his first kit when he was in the second grade. Karl got his first guitar when he was twelve years old shortly after
the movie School Of Rock came out and saw it in school.
This one is to the Lead Singer. How did you find your singing voice. -
ie: did you sing alot as a child who told you you could sing,?
- I come from a background of singers (Father, Grandfather)
and the first song I ever sang was “Hey, Jude.” My friends and family always told me I had a good voice.
I got my voice by singing along to all the music I liked and eventually molded my own style out of
everything that influenced me.
Back to the music, How & where can the Fans and Readers find you.
-You can find us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/Machine22
Myspace: www.myspace.com/machine22music
Purevolume: www.purevolume.com/machine22
What are your Band inspirations through life so far, have they influenced your band/music in any way??
- Music is our lives. We all listen to music everywhere we go and our passion is playing together.
We like to have fun and try to find music in everything we do.
What Music are you listening to in the car or at home right now?
- Jack: The Riverboat Gamblers’ To The Confusion of Our Enemies, Ben: Brand New’s The Devil and God
Are Raging Inside Me, Nick: Jimmy Eat World’s Clarity , Devin: The Mars Volta’s Octahedron Karl: All Time
Low’s Nothing Personal
What Bands did you grow up listening to?
- The Rolling Stones, Brand New, Blink-182, The Beatles, Box Car Racer, The Who, Green Day,
The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bob Marley
Do you all contribute to the writing/music - Who mainly writes the Songs and Music.
- The majority of our songs now were originally written by Jack for his old band.
But as Machine 22 formed, Ben, Nick, and Devin added in their own style and taste
on their respective instruments while in the studio and the songs evolved into what they are now.
Who would you like to do a Collaboration with if you had the chance. & Why?
- Jesse Lacey because he is an amazing song writer and Brand New is one of the bands
that really brought all of us together musically.
The Band are currently signed to Dc Jam Records,
Please Tell us - How did you find your experience with Dc Jam Records
& What were your feelings when they Signed You & You recorded The first session.
- We felt as though we were finally “doing it.” This has been all of our dreams
since diapers and we felt as though we were taking that next step to follow our goals
and really make this thing happen. The recording process was hard, long, and incredibly
addicting. All we want to do is record and release more music!
Where do you see your self in 10 years do you have any Big Ambitions?
- The sky is the limit. We want to get our music out there so that everyone can hear it.
We are all very ambitious people and hope our lives can be filled with music. It’s impossible
to say where we will be in 10 years, but we hope to be playing music together for the next 50 years.
Please tell the readers about any Current Projects and News you would like to share,
- Our debut CD will drop in April 2010 on DC Jam records and we hope to tour across the country after that.
What can we look forward to from you for 2010?
- Our debut CD will drop in April 2010 on DC Jam records and we hope to tour across the country after that.
We will continue writing and producing new songs to share with everyone.

Thanks Guys for your time.

The Piccadillys - London

I Recently reviewed the piccadillys, you can find their catchy london town style and a selection of demos. at my space
MySpace URL:
http://www.myspace.com/piccadillys
Paul Harvey (guitar/vocals) Bobby Butcher (bass/vocals) Greg Talbot (drums/vocals) heir from London UK,

Mystify is a very catchy echoed power pop / soft rock/indie touch style song with that london voice and london cockny style to it.
The feel of london shines through his voice and accent echoes through the song..and through all the demos.
Do to Me has a very catchy beat, indie style tune, which is a tap the foot to type/folk style, strong echoed vocals with a kinky oomf to his sexy voice.
loved the bass line with the very 60s style touched spots of the song..
Do to me.. ooh! listen to it youll love it im sure, i did!
the rest of the demos avail are Wasting your time which was a soft london accent strong vocalled through a gentle mellow song. with some powerful chords
running through,
following on to rewind starting off with a bug rock n roll ding and jive.. very catchy jivey and strong.
I then found shameless the complete opposite to rewind,! next.. it had a 60s touch with strong catchy vocals and great bass lines
mellow percussion fading away. to leave me with Back to bed,
what a beautiful soft gentle lyric'd song.. with oohs and ahhs fading through, a very cute lil folk/style love song with a jam and special touch and bursts of oomf..!
This Band The piccadillys have just released these amazing rock n rolly style/power pop demos for your ears,
has a simple touch of The doors here and there with their own special touch,
i think the new album will explode the streets of london back into the mod and rockers era where it does sometimes belong.and is truly missed by many..
This band belong in every club in camden playing everyday the london sound to ring in your ears!

A relentless occasion with the Foxboro Hot Tubs

A Relentless Occasion AT The Garage.

Saturday. The net was Twitching, Twitter was Tweeting, The phone was ringing!.
Foxboro Hot Tubs Finally Announced a Secret Show
The relentless Garage, Highbury Corner, London. Sunday 1st Nov.Midnight.

The venue were giving out bands to secure a place in the venue,
when we arrived, There was a little flyer on the wall, announcing that ""Foxboro Hot Tubs"" were playing
Sunday 1st November, For a SPECIAL Midnight Show. £20 on the door. No Stage Diving!.

Sunday 1st Nov,Greenday had just played to around 20,000 fans at Wembley Arena that night, Which was the last show of their uk Tour.
They were on their way to The venue only having the capacity to hold around 500 people!
After a while a few hundred Green Day fans were all starting to turn up, wondering about, trying to jump the queue!!
and had mostly all emerged from the Wembley show.

The doors opened around 12:30 am They let you in with wristbands, paid £20 on the door,

There was a Kerrang Magazine Journalist and a couple of other guys Whom were with the Green Day crew for the Filming & Pics
hanging in the "press area" Which was a tiny area that they later got removed from!
The young girl next to me had flown in from Norway especially for the gig.

The stage at this point was still being set up,having sound check by the Tech guys, but the microphone volume was low.
We did try & tell them but they decided not to listen!
While hanging at the front we had sneak peaks of The Green Day guys popping their heads around the corner
where we later realised it was where they had taken pics.!

The time came when Foxboro Hot Tubs came on stage, Throwing Beer all over the crowd,
downing a Can as quick as they can, Then Billie Joe was introducing himself as "The Reverend Strychnine Twitch".
At that point Bursting into "Stop Drop n Roll" while the crowd went crazy!!
Tre cool was also throwing Beer all over the crowd at this point, and then so was Mike!
whilst kevin from Prima Donna, Jason White, supported the band play The Foxboro Hot Tub tunes & having a wild time!

The microphone at this point was still rather quiet, but we could still hear the clear vocals,
18mths after the release of the record, and theyre here playing an intimate gig to fans in London on a green Day tour!!!

What a truly Immense and intimate night it was, The setlist of many many songs went on through the night,
covering the album front to back. playing Stop Drop & Roll, Mother Mary, Ruby Room, Sally, Alligator...
Billie Joe Armstrong, - "The Reverend Strychnine Twitch" as he introduced himself as,
was inches away from me at the front row, he crowd surfed on heads, held our hands, sung in our faces,
kissed us, He basically entertained us to his full extend of what he could, whilst appearing to be very drunk
& very capable, having "The time of his life"!! He rocked london hard! And We Loved it.!!

The crowd were singing along to all the tunes, Pedestrian was a huge hit, where The Reverend's coat had virtually
got ripped off! At which point he had done many stage dives, his brown Reverends coat was all ripped,
he was then dancing around on stage in a white shirt drenched in so much beer,
The stage was a puddle of beer, Beer was everywhere he nearly slipped over.
He was pulling fans up on to the stage to sing and dance driving everyone wild. It was full on hype all night!

When The band burst into 27th Ave Shuffle."The Reverend" started singing in the microphone to me..!!

Then all of a sudden, he put both his hands out to me, and said "you" get up here!!
Then i was being pushing out of the crowd before i could refuse...
The bouncers helped me up on stage with Foxboro Hot Tubs!

Billie Joe firstly gave me a beer Then he passed me his Maraccas and got me to shake them!
I was a Bit Star struck at this point in a daze. he then carried on entertaining the crowd,
and getting the attention to pull more people up, so i told him to grab my friend.
and he did! He grabbed my friend Gaelle, dancing with Foxboro Hot Tubs, to 27th Ave shuffle. shaking Maraccas,
and 2 other girls were also up on stage,

After our time on stage was over, we were seen off to the side and back to the audience, they carried on playing hard,
bursting into dark side of night, Stop drop n Roll 6 times, "A quick one while hes away"
playing The "You are forgiven" So many times!,

Through the show They also blasted The Network, "Blood Sex & Booze", & Johnny be Good, My Generation,
and spoke to the crowd about how you pronounce "London Islington"!

They finished the show after and a good 2hour set, Playing at least 30 songs by the time you add 6 Stop drop & Rolls,
and many ""you are forgivens's!

That Show Was The best gig i have ever & will ever experience,The intimacy of seeing Green Day as Foxboro Hot Tubs well
Nothing will ever compare to that!
i had a truly Momentus & very intimate night,
Being entertained Personally by The Reverend Strychnine Twitch,
That - i will never EVER forget.

LISA BOOTH & GINGER COYOTE INTERVIEW KEVIN PRESTON!!

of PRIMA DONNA and FOXBORO HOT TUBS Reveals To Lis Booth and Ginger Coyote If He Wears Boxers, Briefs or NOTHING At All !!!!!!
Prima Donna
Fresh off tour Lis booth and Ginger Coyote were lucky enough to ask the ultra hot Kevin Preston some questions.. It was a fun and very informative interview... He even tells Lis if he prefers boxers, briefs or nothing at all.. We hope you all enjoy...
KEVIN PRESTON

Punk Globe: Thanks so much for the interview Kevin. Can you give traders some background about you?
Kevin: I guess people would know me best for playing in Prima Donna, The Skulls and most recently, Foxboro Hot Tubs.
Punk Globe: How did you come up with your bands name Prima Donna?
Kevin: It's always been a nickname of mine. People have been calling me a Prima Donna from day one. I thought I might as well make it the band name!
Punk Globe: How long have you been together and can you tell us the other members names and what they do?
Kevin: We started rehearsing in 2003. We played our first show in March of 2004. We've got:
Aaron Minton on saxophone & keys
David S. Field on drums
Erik Arcane on guitar
Daniel Nyby on bass
...then there's me on the mic and guitar.
KEVIN PRESTON

Punk Globe: You also play in Foxboro Hot Tubs . How did that come about?
Kevin: The Green Day boys had seen me play with The Skulls and Prima Donna. When it came time to tour as the Hot Tubs, they wanted another guitar player. I got the call and jumped on a plane to Oakland! The rest is history.
Punk Globe: Who are some of your influences?
Kevin: Hmmm...well, I've always been really private about this. It's like asking who I lost my virginity to. Here are a few: Little Richard, Josephine Baker, James Osterberg, Gene Vincent, Vince Taylor, Prince Rogers Nelson, Phil Lynott, Billy Bones, Poly Styrene, Nina Hagen, Adam Ant, John Anthony Genzale, Klaus Nomi, Roger Troutman, Diana Ross, Marc Bolan, James Brown etc. etc. etc.
Punk Globe: How many recordings do you have out?
Kevin: Prima Donna has 3 out so far. 2 full lengths and one heart-shaped vinyl single. We're working on another full length right now. When The Skulls were playing, we did 2 full lengths, a live Cd/DVD and something like 10 seven inchers. I can't even remember.
Punk Globe: Are any of them on Adeline Records?
Kevin : Not yet.
Punk Globe: Tell us about your recent tour to Japan?
Kevin : It was the wildest time I've ever had. The shows are early, so you have all nite to go crazy. I really did leave a piece of my heart and even some of my guts out there. I felt at home in Japan.
Punk Globe: I know that when White Trash Debutantes toured there we had a great time. What Cities did you play?
Kevin : Osaka, Tokyo and Nagoya.
Punk Globe: Tell us about the audience response in Japan? They go nuts!
KEVIN PRESTON

Kevin: They go berserk. There is absolutely no drama at shows in Japan. Everybody just wants to let loose.
Punk Globe: Any new recording or tours coming up?
Kevin: Both. Our new record will come out in September on Acetate Records. We have two tours of the U.S. over summer and then it's back to Europe in September.
Punk Globe: Can you give the readers any web addresses to check you out at?
Punk Globe: When you played England . Did you meet Amy Winehouse? Any thoughts on her?
Kevin : I wish. I think she is immensely talented. It's really sad that she can't pull it together. It's also really scary because I can see myself going down that road. It's a constant struggle no to. I understand her situation.
Punk Globe: What Country in Europe did you enjoy the best?
Kevin: Man, I hate to sound so neutral, but I really loved them all. There were a couple of audiences that really went nuts though. Italy, Spain, Portugal, France and Switzerland are all on that list.
Lis Booth's Questions
KEVIN PRESTON

Punk Globe (Lis Booth)
Thank you for playing with Green Day on their recent tour, it was awesome to see you,
When you Guys Played the 02/Wembley Arenas London, How did you find it compared to your normal venues in The USA?
Kevin: The 02 was really a sight! I dig that it is strictly a music venue. The sound was incredible. Beyond that, most venues across the globe start to look the same. It's always the audiences that make shows memorable. I'm happy playing in dive bars and I also love playing arenas. I'm glad that I can say I've done both.
Punk Globe: How did you find the rest of European fans took to you.?
Kevin : The response in most of the countries was really positive. We're never quite sure how people will respond because we aren't out there to please everybody. We're definitely far from any mainstream sound, so it was shocking to find that we were selling so much of our merchandise every nite.
Punk Globe: For Kevin,it was awesome to see you play with Foxboro Hot Tubs at The Relentless Garage , London, How do you enjoy playing with The Foxboro Hot Tubs.
Kevin: My oh my, I could talk for hours about this. I really feel like I'm dreaming on stage when the Tubs are playing. Now, that could be 'cause of all the PBR, but really, I just have a blast. Not a lot of people get to play in a band with their heroes.
KEVIN PRESTON

Punk Globe: I hope you enjoyed your tour of Europe with Green Day do you have anything funny you experienced to share with the readers?
Kevin : Jeez, the funny stories I have all revolve around me being a drunk mess. Here are some of the things I puked on or in: stage, limos, private jet, tour bus, tour manager, hotel lobby, airport, pillow case, band members...the list goes on and on.
Punk Globe: Did you manage to sight see, & ride on a red open top London bus?
Kevin : Oh man, I didn't get to do that. Our schedule was so crazy in London that I didn't get to do much sight seeing :(
Punk Globe: For Kevin! I know that the girls loved your skin tight trousers on stage. especially when you stripped off!! We did wonder. and we don't think you wear undies with them... is that right? !
Kevin: You are correct. I hate undies.
Punk Globe: The UK Loved you, its a shame I didn't get to interview you in London after all, will you be brave enough to come back for a mini tour?!
Kevin: Are you kidding? Any time. Seriously, if a fan zine, some promoters or maybe some crazy girls can pay for the plane tickets, we will be on the next flight! Otherwise, see you in September.

4. Trusty
5. Soulmate
6. Bitter
7. String
8. Crack The Whip
9. Barney
10. Voices
11. Totally Blind

i reviewed the tracks

"crack the whip" which was the last of the Tunes off this ep i heard,
what i found off this one was it was angry, repetitive, and loud!
serious angry jams, with crisp noise and full of power.! very hard Pure and Fast,

"Mister know it all" blends from a guitar solo starting off really gentle and soft,is this punk i thought?!
Then in with a sudden Crash of Punk Jam, strong vocals crashing everywhere!
Great Jamming sessions with strong vocals realing off into emotional head nodding wild jumping pure punk!

"Totally Blind" was so good my kids went wild all similar sounding but distinctively striking leading into

"Bitter" which starts off with a Punk Rock sound of mellower punk, blending well into some major punk jams
mellow crosses anger in the vocals throughout the whole song
mixing well with some amazing guitar bursts mixes and great sounds,
ending in one amazing session of noise consisting of drums, guitar and bass hard and fast
It TOtally ROCKED!!

"Soulmate" which starts off with a great electric guitar, mild drums, and hectic bass line
getting heavier as it goes, with lots of percussion, mellower less aggressive lyrics
with the awesome punk jam meshing into some awesome sounds,
This track was my favorite out of them all. where as i then found

"Trusty", now This gets off of with a great start, banging into a Angry jam of bass.guitar and drums
blending strong vocals into one huge jamming session. blending off into a milder punk rock session finish,
jamming next into

"We Know", which i found Awesome, Starts full on, continuing full of jamming bursts of great drums lead
with ecclectic guitar bursts and strong bass lines, repetitive vocals that totally rocked!!
Excellent song Excellent Album...Totally Awesome!

THE SCUMBAGS- ITALY

THE SCUMBAGS are A Rock/ Dance/ Surfing Band from Mayland, Italy

The 4 memeber are: LALE (vocals, guitar), STE (drums), JIM (guitar), DAVIDE (bass)

We were all members of other various bands, in 2006; we decided to enjoy this project together. In the first 2 years we had played more than 100 shows around Italy and Europe, cause we think that live shows is the best part in a band life . In 2007 we had reordered our first album, a pop punk bullet of 11 songs called LOAD, AIM...FIRE! Released by the Californian Label Slip trick records, including the schizo-romantic song “1 day romance”. Our songs are talking about what? about life, about what you like, about love, dirty love, the courage to be one's true self, without being overly serious , angry and joy, and...Energy...we wanna give you the energy to live (and more than this)! actually we're writing new energy songs with for the upcoming year.!

I Had the honour of having The Scumbags answer some q’s for me.. and here’s what they say..!

I SEE YOUR SONG WRITING FOR NEW MATERIAL. DO U COLLABORATE TOGETHER, OR IS IT JUST ONE OF YOU WHO WRITES, OR DO YOU HAVE SOME ONE TO WRITE FOR YOU?

Well usually Lale or Jim write songs and lyrics at home and then we collaborate together For the construction of them. Then we listen to songs with producer and staff. We’re actually Write lots of songs with different style, then we’ll decide which songs we’ll use for our Second CD or EP , that we hope to release in June or September 2009. I think we’ll use about 12/14 songs. We’ll back in studio in the second half of September, we hope to find soon The new label to collaborate for our second opera (:

WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO WRITE?

It depends, for the lyrics of our first album “load, aim fire” we wrote about insecurity and Dreams of rebellion, using lots of words. For our second works we’re looking for an Abstract but direct words, face to face. We don’t like to turn around things, so our new Songs will be direct. We’re actually writing new lyrics, about the energy to live, about memories and the Importance of the moment. But we don’t know how we call the second album yet.

WHY THE SCUMBAGS FOR A NAME IS IT INFLUENCED BY THE GREEN DAY SONG?

Yes for sure! (: we love green day. It was the name of band where Lale and Dave are met too, some years ago. And then they decided to keep this name, as friendship symbol. We indicate the scumbag as the devil on your shoulder, who tells you what you really want to do.

NAME SOME MAJOR INFLUENCES AND WHY?

Our major influence is...taste. We play what we like, not what is better to play now. We Play fresh music from the slums of luxury. We play from 2006, not so much, but found a Style, our style, and we’d like to become a good band keeping and improving that way. Other influences part music is to see and to live the life, or strange situation you can find Around you.

WHAT ARE YOU GUYS LIKE LIVE?

Well we’re party guys, when we’re not in studio or in session we love to be around with Friends. When we’re on tour we love to know new people before, during and after show. We like to Make some funny things sometime. Lale is the quietest of the band and sometimes he Drive naked.

WHEN DO WE EXPECT TO SEE A NEW ALBUM?

We’re actually looking for a new manager so we actually don’t know rules and time of new Album. We’re deciding graphics and title and new pic right now. We hope to back in studio in October and get ready in February, so release that in summer 2009. we’re taking a lil break from stage now, cause we wanna prepare everything as better as possible. So we need your help guys ^^

DO YOU HAVE ANY BIZARRE STORIES OF FANS?

During Baltic games festival in Poland we made an interview for a Poland TV channel where we introduce a guy as “the noisemaker”, he was a guy who still jump on stage and make a funny show during The Scumbag performance in Gdansk, jumping on stage, and on people, dancing and kissing girls on stage while we were playing. Now he’s a really good friend of us and part of staff when we’re on tour (:

HAVE YOU PLAYED OUTSIDE OF ITALY?

Yes we played an European tour in 2007 (Slovenia, Czech rep. Poland, German, Switzerland), and we’re just come back from a big concert in Gdansk, Poland. People in Poland was great, the stage was gorgeous and people still shout and dance for the entire performance. We should back on tour in Europe in end of spring 2009, and in California in December 2008 or summer 2009 (we hope both) (: Our next project is play at warped tour 2009 in the USA, we really hope to realize that.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DID YOU GROW UP WITH IN ITALY AND HOW DID YOU GET INTO THIS STYLE OF MUSIC YOU PLAY TODAY?

We always listened (and still) lots of Californian band, of all genres, from punk rock, to pop rock, as guttermouth, bad religion, green day, rancid, rise against, new band like my Chemical romance. Or acoustic music, with just guitar and piano you know? Or in the Soundtrack movies, you can find a lot of good stuff in it sometime (sweet, hard, sexy). And Lots of rock’n’roll, that’s the best! There’s a good in everything, we like to take the best of Everything and creating good sounds i think.

SHARE WITH US SOME COOL BAND MEMORYS,

Ooook (: During a show in Europe we and stuff drink more than club should pay us, as blues Brothers movie. The first time that we made a sold out show we didn’t sleep from more than 30 hours, we was in Poland and club was totally full, we had people on stage too. Lale and Ste are brothers. The day after a concert of us in a festival, we were around the party and we still met people who’d like to make pics with us, and we almost lost the plane to back in Italy. Load aim fire title album was chosen while we was drunk and driving from studio to the hotel. David bought his first bass with the money founded in a wallet lost on street. At the beginning we was a trio, Jim enjoy the band in the end of 2007. Our backstage and changing room (when we have one) is always full of people that we know before concert, and we invite to have fun together! Thanks for your support, find us at www.myspace.com/scumb4g

This fine trio from Crawley, London, UK are "Pure Anarchy."
A History & collection of olde punk, oi oi sound, have for the first time together as UK Vacant, Written and Recorded some Very fine Music With out the trappings of Sista Fista, formed in 2008 as UK Vacant
A More Intense sound Has been Born. Deep, Intense thoughts and ideas, Producing some very strong songs,
And, We at Music Fanbiz are priveliged to be the first to listen and write and review

Expressing strong powerful lyrics and emotions to make people realise and express How bad this world is getting today.. as they say in their songs,,

Today, This is our time, and times are pretty shit, All sick of Taxes, & Modern Society, We all feel like Sticking up the 2 fingers at everyone who misunderstand and misunderstood,
Rant against these so called Martyr Suicide Bombers,Sing/Write about Anti Terrorism and the poor victims of innocent muslims being blamed,.
Make people realise What this World is coming too,
Make everyone realise theyre Sick of working their Balls off Day by Day just to hand it all back to the Government,
Sick of being told what to do and how to do it, this is Our Fucking World.
Expressing in other ways like songs to Piss off the Coppers,& Pigs!!, which they describe is especially a Live Performance Favorite.!
Wank & the illuminatis shared hatred for the church, not anti religion just anti establishment and in this particular case.. happens to be The church, Strongwords, Strong opinions that have Got to be heard, and what other good way is there to do it.?
of course by expressing in the music !
Every one has to get a point across i cant agree of a better way myself to express it, And it has to be heard, My Personal Favorite of the Songs i heard was THIS SOCIETY
UK Vacant does not buy into any of that Nazi Shit, "Anyone coming to us looking for a blame on race, has entirely missed the point." We wont change the World..no doubt we'll be brought down by ""The system"" If we get Loud, But we'll have a good fucking go at it and we wont make it easy for them either" !! ~UK Vacant

They all contribute with the song writing, Staying as a 3 peice band with the history of Sista Fista behind them. A brotherly bond had formed as no one else would fit in! Making more noise with the 3 of them as they did Once when 5,
During the first rehearsal, they came up with 2 songs, Then that message to themselves was clear.. "Playtime was over" Within 2 weeks, They had written 5 songs by the 3rd week, They went to the studio, recorded 3 songs,
"Recording a song as soon as you write and learn it, Really catches the moment of how it should sound, Raw, Rough and nothing but Heart" ~Wank Sinatra.
After the 3 tracks were recorded, They joined the Myspace World, which is where we found them, in June 08 at www.myspace.com/ukvacant
They were soon to realise how the whole music scene had totally changed,
"Every one downloads songs these days so there is no need for record companys and no need to censor all your songs" ! So knowing that what ever they were to record was going to end up being downloaded/file shared for fuck all,
They started up their own company "Flange Records". So they have the full control of what they can do, and i dont blame them!!
The demo contains 7 songs.

1, This Society.

This was the first song recorded by UK-VACANT, Its about how they see all the shit going on in the world and Todays society, Creating Pure Aggression and Anger into a punk tune was a good move, as it produced some excellent sounds and noise! “Out on the lash its a Saturday night, your looking around, you think your alright, But your going home in a box tonight, coz the lads in the pub, are up for a fight”. Very deep and dark what an excellent first eva song.! Wow...

2, Watching Me.?

Ranting to the world about the eyes everywhere, its all fucked up, freedoms gone .. oi oi ! Exploding agression banging out the vibe, Pure Anarchy!

3, Never Change...

Oi oi oi ! Plenty of oi oi here,! This is about sticking up the 2 fingers UP at everyone who misunderstood, and who misjudged.. double chorded offessive Pure Punk in one hit,

4,Martyr

The one which will get their ass kicked but who gives a shit coz they dont!.. The song against the anti terrorism.. Broken hearts. Broken dreams, They Blow themselves to smitherines.. The awesome what the fuck oi oi Punk agression sound you all need.

5. Who the Fuck are You?

Dont tell us what to do.! Sick of working their balls off every fucking day, but we have to .. what the fuck? Dont do this.. Dont do that... well this is their say, and they have Written some very true and understanding Lyrics which everyone will agree with apart from the government,! Listen to it.. you will agree.

6. Start a Riot // Fuck the Pigs

This is now up on their my space and wow.. what a huge response this has had,, and i love it Too. Join the fiilth, Social Retard,, This is a Live favorite to their fans full of pure hatred right from the start.. Every one knows the pigs are Shit.. Thats why they made the song..! Simply to piss off the fucking coppers and nothing more..

7. Vatican city,

A hatred for the church.. illuminati is coming for you..

An awesome demo to have reviewed, An awesome Band with a huge history of Pure Punk , And this demo shows that shining through their every punk agression. Fucking Awesome First tracks to have reviewed, and a bunch of Fun guys to have worked with on this. Listen to them and you will agree with every word... I Wish them Every Success Coz they Fuckin Deserve it.

With A history of Punk, A Life of Experience.& Full of powerful and very True Opinions,
To be Producing some of Todays Top Pure Brilliant Punk.
Listen to their Tunes, Find them on My space.. www.myspace.com/ukvacant

""OUR FIRST FUCKING GIG!!!!! 16TH OF AUGUST AT ESQUIRES BEDFORD SO GET YA FUCKING ARSES DOWN THERE.......OH SORRY FANNY..S WELCOME TOO"".....

TIGER ARMY!

So - Who are Tiger Army?

With their last album - "Music From Regions Beyond" by Hellcat Records,
which was released in 2007 has been mentioned by many as
"The band's most distinguished work yet"!,

I found the album a good mixture of music genre, and blends, fast, hard, raw,
and even some rockabilly folk punk,
its a mix of pure blending sounds for any ear,
& The Band are totally Awesome,

I was hooked by Tiger Army by listening to one song of theirs called
"Atomic" which was off a compilation punk mix album,

it then inspired me to look up their eps, The band, & history, which was fascinating,

This is where i found their last album "Music From Regions Beyond"

with the Title tracks:

1) Prelude: Signal Return
2) Hotprowl
3) Afterworld
4) Forever Fades Away
5) Ghosts of Memory
6) LunaTone
7) Pain
8) As the Cold Rain Falls
9) Hechizo de Amor
10) Spring Forward
11) Where the Moss Slowly Grows

Now,This Major Album gave the band some pure fan followers.
When returning to the main stage at Warped Tour 2007 they burst the seams,
which had created their popularity to expand their fan base worldwide,
so In 2008, Tiger Army played a number of shows in the U.S, Canada, Australia, Japan and Europe

The depths and struggles this band has gone through today, gives them a strong wave of
perseverance and confidence that would have destroyed most bands in todays day and age,

With Members shot, Many band member changes, and the stresses the history evolves in itself,
having todays current members as:
Nick 13 - lead vocals, lead guitar, songwriter from 1996 - present)
Geoff Kresge - stand-up bass, backing vocals joined the band in 1999 - 2004, and re joined in
2008 - present
James Meza - drums, percussion joined in 2004 - present)

In early 1996, they played their first show with longtime friends AFI, borrowing their
drummer Adam Carson for their set, at the legendary 924 Gilman in Berkeley,CA
where bands such as Green Day, AFI and Rancid got their start,
following on with regular local shows, creating a huge fan base & following,
they then went on to the studio in the summer of 1996 to record a self-titled vinyl EP,
now referred to as the Temptation EP.

This caught the eye of Rancid's / Hellcat Records Tim Armstrong,
who then contacted Nick 13 and asked him to record an album!

Tiger Army then recorded their first full length self-titled Tiger Army,in January 1999.
The bassist Joel Day left Tiger Army before the band was signed,
so the Quakes bassist Rob Peltier was hired to play on the album.

They then recorded a second album, Power of Moonlite in 2001.
where London May left shortly after the recording, and was replaced with Fred Hell.

On March 10,2003,
Fred Hell was shot four times, once in the head, by armed robbers
A bullet became lodged in his brain, putting his life in pause mode,
having to go through intense therapy before he could ever play drums again.
whilst the band were in the processes of recording Ghost Tigers Rise

The record was repeatedly delayed to make time for Fred to recover enough to perform,
but his injuries proved serious enough to regrettably not be able to carry on and in July 2004
he resigned his position from the band,.
In regret in which this is what tempted the band to hire Mike Fasano,
whom was a drum tech for both Rancid and Tiger Army,
he was then invited to play on the album for its completion.

which followed onto more bad news for the band where in September 2004,
Geoff Kresge quit the band to focus his efforts on his new record label, Dead Body Records
He then joined his wife Kamilla Vanilla with Horrorpops as a guitarist a month later.
Nick 13 quickly announced a new line-up for Tiger Army,
featuring drummer "Wasted" James Meza
giving you todays band memebers Nick 13 Geoff Kresge, James Meza,

It is totally my taste in sounds..I want the whole album now!!

SHOOK
NIGHT LITE
THE LOTTERY

I must say Shook was Brilliant with some great Lyrics,

The patterns and the past
The mirrors and the glass
A tightrope and a towline
and the convolutions.
I won’t suffer a meager fate, no.

These songs are Truly Awesome, Pure Garage Punk, (Which Totally Rocked my Socks on this cold & frosty morning..!)

VENOMOUS whom have been slowly hitting The international Territorys with Their song "Shook"
which i would like to add was Also listed as one of 2008's Top 5 songs by a British website The four oh five.

The Band are from West Chester the Home of The Awesome Pro Skater Bam Margera.
Where They just had 3 of their Awesome Songs featured in Bams CKY New skate video Titled Bam's or Bust".
The video which is being aired on Fuel TV is centered around The Life of Pro Skater: Bam Margera ~ of MTV's "Jackass" Fame.

This has The "Skater" Sound to go with one of the funniest Skater Punks around!! "Bam"
Bam couldnt have picked a better Band!!

The Band Venomous have sounds similar to Some Skate/Punk Music Sounds, But, with their own spectacular touch..
Theyre Awesome!

Id say the music has a feel of 60's skater punk - with A modern injection of Rawness, & Even a touch of Grunge ..

VERY MOTIVATIONAL !,

And It Sure does goes so well with The Skate vibe of Bams new Videos For Sure!,

Already known to The UK as The Top NME Breaking Band of 2008,
UK TV's T4 Mobile Act, having also featured in The Sun, UK's Top Newspaper,
& The Scott Mills Radio show on BBC's Radio 1.

Their Music influences are sounds of The Prodigy, Chemical Bros, Gorillaz, Massiva Attack

Hitting many big UK Venues in recent times and still currently playing London's Camden Town Hot music scene

They have released a EP Titled "" My London""

Strong vocal Sounds ringing to my ears straight off as The Streets In many tracks
But with
A great Punk/Rock music sounds to back it up and finish it off perfectly

Wow! what can i say~
i was not expecting The Mike Skinner style vocals to go with this music
But it blends so well it is truly Awesome,

The Ep i recieved is a 5 tracker consisting of
Night Train
Under Pressure
My London
Silver Lining
Dance

& Dole (sample)
Teenage Tribe (sample) ~found on their myspace

All the songs varied in styles, in regards to the music
Starts to slow offbeat rock to a crash of some upbeat Punk styles
totally meshed all well with the vocalists classic style off
with pure Rawness,& Attitude which is very unique.

I also loved the ""Dole"" sample on their myspace.. very smooth vocals and sounds,
~ with more singing in this one than vocalist vocals which blended so well along with the other tracks

The London sounds shined through his polished London accent which gives the whole cd such character
The different styles and sounds made it exciting & Great to Listen to, The music & originality totally rocks!

I can see alot more progression waves from this band coming, I hope & totally expect to see them shining brightly
at the top sometime soon!

I found it Quite mellow rock style music, withgreat tunes, very catchy and easy to sing along too
with a good percussion and bass line

Fishbone ~jackass brigade is totally hilarious, catchy, fast, with cowpunkish style,
fast lyrics, funny and has a country touch with sing along tunes!

EMPYR ARTICLE/INTERVIEW this was published on Punk Globe

Formed in 2007, Empyr, are 5 Great already established French Rockers,

Benoit Poher (vocals) Florian Dubos (guitar) both originating of Kyo, Benoit Juillard (bass) of Pleymo, Fred Duquesne (guitar) of Watcha and Jocelyn Moze (drums), a former member of Vegastar.
Their first album, The Peaceful Riot was released in May 2008,
The release includes 12 songs including their hot new latest release "New Day".
Which The video has been directed by Marc Maggiori, another Pleymo member.
Empyr made the choice to interpret all its tracks into English.
The musicians recorded their first project in Los Angeles at The Boat studios, under the guidance of producer Ken Andrews,
This news soon shocked fans of Kyo, Vegastar, & Pleymo!,

It has sold many cds all around europe already and is just touching the edge of usa where hopefully it will explode!

Album: The Peaceful Riot

1.God is my lover,
2.New Day
3.Birth
4.Tonight
5.water lily
6.The voice of the lost souls
7.forbidden song
8.the one
9.the fever
10. the empress
11.march on
12. join us
These 5 members from their already greatly established bands have produced a very fine cd to say the least,
The new cd The peaceful Riot is awesome, Pure and Raw

The new song they have released "New Day" is simply Pure Rock. I love it, you catch the words and sing along straight away,

I found the album easy listening, different tracks blended touches of different styles of Rock, Heavy Rock, Mellow Rock, Punk Rock.Pop Rock with a special touch of metal here and there, which has made them a mixed blend of Pure french Rock.

Benoit poher's style stays clearly present in the Music,
His style we hear from kyo is still present, But his music is much more mature now, like a new artistic re-birth, But of course even better still with his personal signature,
If you dont listen and find out you will miss out on some great new exciting blends, They have a blend from each style of music from the bands they were all previously in, mixed it all together and came up with empyr, Truly Awesome. And every Rock Fan needs a copy!

I got in contact with the guys and had the pleasure of them answering some questions for me..

How do you think the fans from your Original Bands have taken this news of the new band? Has it been a good response?

What are your former bands current Plans & Projects?

Was it easy to Blend all the different energy's to create this new album from 4 different other bands sounds?

Some famous bands choose to use side projects for a bit of fun, returning to their public using new sounds, will we see more of empyr in the future, or is this A one off?

How are you & the fans enjoying the tour? will there be more europe dates?

When greenday made it big in the UK in 05, Mike dirnt said... When a UK band hits USA they say they have really made it... When a USA band hits The UK, They say they've really fucking made it.
There arent that many French bands to hit the UK, & USA, Thats a huge success for you.. Does it make you think your really Awesome & you Really Fucking made it?
